Looking Back

I watched them walk down the hall
Hand in hand, as if they were in love
I broke down and tears started to fall
Looking around I fell and gave my locker a shove

Panic came over me I couldn't handle it
What was I supposed to hold on to now
I covered up my eyes, and shook my fist
I tried to become invisible and avoid the crowd

I sat with my knees in my shaking arms
My face covered in tears and ruined mascara
I felt a kick to my leg, i just shooked my head
I tried to hide my messy face as you lifted me up

You gave me a hug and held me there
I didn't have to open my eyes to see it was you
I heard your voice tell me everything was alright
He hadn't known what he had just lost

I stood shaking in your arms ready to collapse
You'd whisper in my ear, and hold me up
Telling me how I could do so much better
you were there when my world came crashing

Look at us now, hand in hand through it all
You know my secrets and I know yours
Best friends, even when I only wanted him
You held me tight, and reminded me I needed you
