Silence

by Forsaken Redeemer   Dec 3, 2005

Silence is precious,
It can break or mend your heart,
It can soothe your open wounds,
Or it can rip you apart.
Silence can be a blessing,
Keeping those things unsaid,
Or it can be a curse,
Empty blankness in your head.

Silence can bring you happiness,
Leaving your life simple and uncomplicated,
It can leave you to your own thoughts,
It can leave your desires sated.
Silence can leave to your own devices,
It can leave you to all the wonders of your mind,
It can lead you to exploration,
Wondering what you may find.

Silence can cause you pain,
It can make your torment grow,
It can kill you inside
And make your tears flow.
Silence can keep your emotions locked up
Deep inside,
It can leave things to just carry on
While you crawl away and hide.

Silence has caused me pain,
When left to my own remedies,
When asked to speak,
I did so, fevered and desperately.
Silence kept me isolated and hurt,
To face my problems on my own,
But most of all,
Silence left me to be all alone.
