1 Voice 1 Million Listeners

by Weeping Wolf   Dec 5, 2005

*This week I dedicate my poems to John Lennon who died on December 8. 1980. He strived for peace and I will take it upon myself to live for the same. Here is the first of the many poems I will write for him this week*

I wish I could have been there
When you walked upon the stage
When you sang the lyrics
of what you truly believed.

"Love is all you need"
"Imagine all the people...
Sharing all the world"
your spark of life gave out
before your songs ever did.

I raise my faith to you Lennon
for showing me the light
even though I've been lost
for too long to have realized
The peace you strived for
Your life payed the cost.

Your last breath was taken
from the one thing you were against
It wasn't heartbreak or sickness that killed you
but the treachery of violence.

1 voice is what you were
but you encouraged
1 million listeners
to believe in you and
love and peace.

The peace you strived for
Your life payed the cost.

I like peace. It's calm and unwavered. One day there will be peace-if everyone just opens their minds to actually listen. So many pretend they're listening but really they're not... and it hurts, I tell you. So many died for freedom, love, trust, compassion. And so many live hoping it will be true. One day, I promise.

    It's true- all you need....

    is love

=( And many don't even know that someone loves them because at one point the whole world knew them.

And they're worth something. They make a difference.

Nice "John Lennon" week. inspiring :)
