How it could have been

It could have been great
it could have been fine,

but this is a very sad story of mine.

We grew up together you and i,
went to uni and gave us a try,

i was alone with no-one who cared,
you were the one who never stared.

you came to me and gave me support,
i never realized or ever thought,

that someone so kind and gentle to all,
would stay around and break my fall,

you became a perfect life long friend,
and promised me you'd stay till the end,

i became your wife
and you became my whole life,
i never thought we'd part

But i was wrong

weeks passed by and we went away,
our very own honeymoon in santrapaye,

you went in the sea and a current appeared,
i didn't know what to do but the worst i feared,

i lost you out there that day,
but the worst was that i dragged your body,
back to the beach and tried to help,

i tried to get you back,
but you never came,
you never stayed like you'd promised,

you'd gone forever and there was nothing i could do,
i'd lost you and i was alone once again.

to this day nothing has changed except my name.
