Mask

by Martyna   Dec 6, 2005

I need some illumination, some inspiration.
Within myself,
doubt.
A tangled mess of words and feelings.
Indecisiveness,
Ive always been a fence sitter.
Forgetfulness,
I never can remember.
Underneath the covering
lies something unbelievably beautiful,
and hideous.
Hidden deep,
far away,
scartissue.
So accurately concealed,
I wasnt aware of its existence,
but I always knew there was
something.
Now I can point to it.
Hidden beauty,
hidden pain.
Put on the mask,
mask the supressed rage.
I am compassionately drained.

This one's gorgeous, hon. My favorite so far. The first and last lines are my favorite parts. One thing though - "I wasnt aware of its existence,
but I always knew there was
something." Seems contradicting and doesn't make all the sense that it could... maybe "existence" isn't quite the word? But you know better than I of course. Great work, I loved it.
