New Passage

by Courtney   Dec 7, 2005

River running
brother burping
cars gunning
finches chirping

bums slumming
movies showing
sisters humming
moms glowing

world stops
now employed
hearts drop
dads deployed

airs hot
hearts cold
though not
feels old

guns shot
breath taken
blood drop
grave maken

flag rose
tears fall
she knows
stands tall

commander saluted
knees ground
life's polluted
faith's found

memories thought
smiles rise
lessons taught
birthday surprise

war cause
people mistaken
only flaws
countries shaken

once her
now gone
dads fear
it goes on

one message
world for
new passage
end war
