Final Drive

by Bridget   Dec 7, 2005

The road became wavy
The lines looked unclear
She started to swerve
With no sense of fear

"This is the end,"
She said to the wheel.
There was no one with her that day
This was her day to deal.

When the car hit the rail
Her body was jerked.
The seatbelt could do nothing now
Only cause her more hurt.

In that split second of time
Before her head hit the dash
She realized she had known from the beginning
That her life was not meant to last.
