She Shall Remain Nameless

by Poetvoices   Dec 7, 2005

What in the world are you doing to yourself?
You've bottled up your individuality and shoved it away on a shelf.

I bet you couldn't go one day without fixing your hair.
You know, you're trying to fit in. Be like everyone else. Don't you care?

I guess you're impressing everyone else.
What are they, blind? It's clear that you're not being yourself!
The slightest thing embarrasses you.
It reflects in your eyes with every fun thing you do.

You can't go in public without looking your best.
For God's sake, woman! Give it a rest!
You make me so angry. You're too afraid to be you.
Embrace yourself, not in a hug, but until you feel new.

Try something new. Dare to be different. Wear unique clothes.
You call ME a poser, but look at you! You do what they want. You gladly pose!

So, have fun in your little clay mold,
but I urge you, try to be yourself before the clay dries and you become too old.
