Buried in the Snow

by Busted Halo   Dec 8, 2005

She goes home after school to an empty trailer
Her step dad's gone
Momma thinks her daughters a failer.

She's never there to cook for her,
doesn't care to converse with her,
nor tell her it's alright to be humble and meek.
Instead she is with another man,
theres a new one each week.

After eating a cold sandwich,to bed she goes,
Knowing she will never find sleep.
The weight of silence is cutting into her heart,
it's pain she will hoard and keep.

Her self confidence is down,
but nobody knows it,nobody's around.
Questions barrel into her head.
"If I'm gone, will they look until I am found?"

Her stomach hits the ground.
thump thump thump
her heart a slow,steady pound.
The painful life her parents built for her is fixing to come crumbling down.

She needed stability
she needed a purpose
yet she was clothed with invisibility
No hand to hold hers
She is falling faster then gravity

Like a red rose buried in snow,
she was looked over.
Nobody would know.
