Losing

I have fought many battles
within my life.
I've made it through
any little bit of strife.

But lately I feel
as if I am not strong enough,
Cause right now my life
is more than just tough.

I have given up on dreams,
they will never come true.
The biggest dream I've given up on
is being with you.

Sure, you've made me happy,
and I do love you so,
but now is the time
I need to let go.

My life is hard.
My friends are fake.
I need to start thinking about me
for my own sake.

So, leave me be.
Let me alone.
Don't check up on me,
don't call my phone.

Cause this is MY battle.
I walk in MY shoes!
But I will let you know...
This battle I will lose.
