The Pain of Christmas

by Just Me   Dec 13, 2005

I love this holiday
and all it represents
the baby boy who came and died
so that i may be set free
yet still there is a pain this christmas
a pain ive never felt before
a pain oh so very new
a pain from missing you
this year as i place the star
upon the ever-green tree
and wrap my preasents with neat little bows
I remember you
and how you made this time of year
speacial
and this year
as i watch my christmas movies
and join in caroling
I will see your face and
think back on those special days spent with you
when i open up those packages
on christmas morn
i will start to cry
for there is no grandpa here
to hug for a gift
and no grampy to sip hot coco with
while sharing christmas stories of the past
so Grampy i am here tonight
hoping you can here me
there is a pain in christmas this year
without you here

*grampy... you died a short while after christmas last year... and this year as im going through the motions im missing you so please hear me... i love you and christmas just isn't christmas without you here*

The truth is that I was not so much into the form of this poem, but the content touched my heart. I felt this poem. You wrote this from your heart and not your head. Good job!!!
