Distracted

by Barbara   Dec 16, 2005

I can't get you out of my mind.
Wherever I go, whatever I do
all I think about is you.

I've been down this road before.
I promised myself I'll never do it again.
That's why I keep telling myself, we should just be friends.

But every time I see you,
those thoughts just melt away.
It's the same repetitive cycle I go through every day.

Sometimes I think these feelings will pass.
It's just a stage I'm going through.
Next thing I know, all I'm thinking about is you.

We flirt, stare, and play.
And I wonder if what they tell me is true.
You feel for me, the same way I feel for you.

If you something, I wish you would say so.
But if you feel nothing, say that too.
So I could know how to feel about you.

Until then, I'll sit here writing,
and wondering if we could be.
I guess I'll just have to sit and wait to see the end of this story.
