The higher that you climb,
The harder you must fall,
Before you get set up,
I must warn you all,
The plunge is not so bad,
The painful part is when,
You look down and know,
You'll have to start again.
Nothing to break your fall,
Just the solid ground,
Up and on your feet,
And take a look around,
Now you seem to notice,
Those little things they do,
They don't do it for them selves, They do it just for you.
The time to talk is gone,
And now your in a mess,
She just went out and bought,
The cutest purple dress,
You realize what you've done,
And know what you can not fix,
Heres a helpful hint,
"Love" & "Lying" do not mix.
She said she'd call you back,
So sit around and wait,
This phone call that comes next,
Will determine your very fate,
You never got that call,
You wonder what to do,
You want to climb back up love's ladder,
To try and work things through,
Now as you accent,
Up the weary ladder,
You never realized how much she meant,
Until you never had her,
But love does not belong,
To this ladders name,
I've got to hang myself,
Before I go insane.
