Antagonist

by Matt   Dec 20, 2005

You've got to stop this, your unending story
Of all the dark and painful images
Where your characters always die or fail
Where they're wracked with pain and loss
Why can't you make something new on this paper?
Nope, not good enough, crumble it up
Black pen leaks with raw emotion and ideas
But every one has been done before somewhere else
Written by some other lamented writer out there
No, nothing is new, nothing exciting or different
And tell me, why is everything to dark and vengeful?
Why can't you write something happy for once?
You can't write about the lights and joy of faith
And there's nothing left to be said about hope
Your friends? Well what are they good for anymore?
Is your life really that terrible to write of blood?
I can almost pity you, you and your lost cause
Good luck with all that pain you keep inside
You won't break down eventually or anything.
