A Letter From Jesus

A Letter From Jesus
By: Jessica Anderson

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town
not a human was stirring not even a clown
the presents were stacked under the tree with care
in hopes that the morning would bring more there
a letter was left to each in the house
one was even left for the pesky little mouse
each letter was different and each had their faults
telling each person of their assaults
word upon word was stacked in a note
an organized mess that Jesus had wrote.

He spoke of the presents that they would receive
and of the punishments if they didn't believe
the cruelty in letters only made some scared
some disbelieved as if they were dared
in one sentence to everyone Jesus left heart
giving everyone a brand new start.

Christ spoke of sin and His time on the Earth
He spoke about His death and even His birth
the chills that ran through me as I read my letter were thus
I knew being a Christian had it's plus
the letter wasn't easier on me than on you
I have just as many sins as all of you do
just know what to expect if you go to Hell
the fiery pits and the burning smell
it's a price you'll pay if you don't listen to me
believe in God and then you'll finally see
Christ works wonders in mysterious ways
so yell hallelujah and give Jesus your praise!
