Dreams

by Candi   Dec 28, 2003

Dreams are sudden fantasies, visions of your hopes and longings,
You were once part of those dreams, and you had a sense of belonging.
Those dreams were filled with roses and sunshine and cotton candy,
With perfumed air and closeness and love, and beaches soft and sandy.
But then those dreams were filled with thorns and clouds, and the piercing howl of the wind,
They were dark and cold with a feeling of being helpless, trapped and pinned.
With distance and loathing and thick smoky air,
My dreams of you soon became my worst nightmare.
