We received a phone call
Had to leave school
Our mother was sick
So sick she was dieing
We all rushed to the hospital
To say goodbye
She could barely grasp our hands
She couldn't talk
Or barely open her eyes
She was so weak
When she could talk
She said she didn't want to see us
So we forgot about her
Then another call
Back in the hospital she went
Weighing 65 pounds
Less than I
She 39 I 13
The doctor gave her a month to live
6 months later she in a home
A nursing home
Walking, eating, talking, smiling
Our father said she might make it
But then a week goes by
A phone call
This time
Shes not only in a hospital
But she died
