Friends For Life

by jason hallmark   Dec 23, 2005

As I look back on years gone by when we thought we should hate,
I sometimes sit and question why but I know it was just fate.
You know the darkest parts of me like no one ever will,
I've told you things that set me free we have that bond yet still.
I smile I laugh I play the part for all the world to see,
But you my friend looked into my heart and saw the pain in me.
I hurt I'm scared I'm just a child still reaching out for love,
My head's confused my thoughts go wild where is this god above.
You saved my life and we both know that it was almost done,
I'd given up I was so low I'd lost and she had won.
But you stood your ground and made me see that I was not all bad,
You showed you truly cared for me the one thing I'd never had.
Thank god for you and Dylan too I love you both so much,
You stood by me and saw me through with love a smile a touch.
You both are very dear to me I need you everyday,
If only for a pleasant word to brighten up my day.
So always know I am your friend and hold you very dear,
You're in my heart until the end I always need you near.

Aw this is a very sweet poem and I really like it a lot. The only thing I can say about this is it is kinda hard to read I think that you should try and break it up a little bit. but other than that its great. very well written.
