The girl

by Danielle   Dec 23, 2005

Walking down a dark street,
Not knowing who I'd meet
Out of the ally there came a girl,
So grotesque I want to hurl!
She stuck out her hand and in it a rose
Deep in her thought her voice arose.
"Can I eat your heart?" she said
I backed away and shook my head.
I turned to run but my feet were frozen
She came closer and my mouth fell open.
I tried to scream as I looked into her empty eyes
Then my feet caught me by surprise.
I ran down the dull grey road
Not knowing where to go.
Turn after turn I came to dead ends
I just want to get out of here and let my brain mend!
Behind me the girl came near,
Deep inside me arose my fear.
I backed into a dead end wall
My hope of living began to fall.
The girl came closer, scars all over her face
Wrapped from her hands was bloody white lace.
She stuck out her hand and in it a rose
Deep inside her throat her voice arose.
"Can I eat your heart?" she said
She looked at me and her eyes bled.
I pushed back and against the wall I hit my head
And I woke up in my bed.
The room was dark with the night
Then came the biggest fright
The girl was there, at the foot of my bed
"Can I eat your heart?" she said.
