Afraid

Trapped by fear,
Scared to come home,
Afraid of what might happen,
Just wishing I could escape.

Hating you for what you have done,
And I always will too,
But you no longer control me,
Your power over me has gone.

The bruises have faded,
Yet the scars are still inside,
Still making me scream at night,
The memories will never disappear.

I can never truly forgive you,
You caused us so much pain,
But I wont let hate control me,
Or else I would just become you.
