What is about the rain that makes me think of a new beginning?

why is it that when i lay in bed listening to that gentle patter on the roof i feel comforted?

how can it be that when that when it pours down on me i feel absolutely free?

why is it when i step into the rain i feel so safe and at the same time like I'm tempting fate?

how is it when water falls from the heavens it's possible to feel so many emotions?

what is it about the rain that makes me feel like I'm drowning in it and yet makes me want to?
