Deep Down

by Little Dot   Dec 31, 2005

I'm trying to make myself hate you
So that in the end you can't hurt me
When you say you don't love me

I try to pretend that I don't love you
I hide my feelings from myself
I burry them deep

I'm always looking for the worst in you
Find something, anything,
That will make me stop loving you

But the harder I look for the bad
The more good I seem to find
This always happens to me

I have known you so long
But with every imperfection I find in you
I love you more because of it

I just wish these feelings would stop
You are my friend and that's all
I know it will always be that way

That is why I have to hate you
I would rather hate you
Then love you and not have you feel the same

The last stanza kind of sum up the whole poem, and though it's merely 3 lines but it's the strongest and it conveys the most.

Sacrificing a friendship, it is the most painful thing to do. Another heartfelt poem from you. I can really feel through your poems, great work.

Thanks for sharing and thanks for your comments. Appreciated. =)
