A Special Place

by .:*Nicole*:.   Jan 1, 2006

I walk down the street
Thats teeming with people
And carriages pulled by horses
That are clacking on the cobblestones

The air smells of smoke and saltwater
From the many boats that are tied up to the seawall
And the restaurants tempt me with roasted chicken
And warm cider

As I stroll across the bridge
I feel the warm sunshine on my back
The spray of the water as boats drift past
And the friendly Italian breeze that welcomes me home

I continue my walk
And hear vendors selling goods
The pigeons are cooing
Looking for a tasty treat

The buzzing street lamps
Have been on all day
Giving light to the harbor
Giving cheer to the place

Its a dream come true
