Paper Angel

by •§ аηgÑ”l §•   Jan 1, 2006

She wants to spread her wings,
take off and fly;
but broken angels like this,
can't do anything but cry...

She falls, she crawls,
she asks herself;
why do these things happen to me..

Where did she go wrong?
She's been sitting there forever,
running through her thoughts,
trying to make a song,
and he tells her it don't have to rhyme, but she just smiles back and takes her time..

Memories of family come back to her mind;
she can't do anything now,
but try to hide.

Her tears are like blood,
staining her face;
she looks like an angel,
but she's feels like she's being chased.

She's afraid to speak,
she's afraid to raise her hand..
Everyone thinks there's nothing left for her to do.. But she just wants those memories to come back to you..

She falls, and she crawls,
but now you can't see her smile..
It's hidden under paper angels,
fake flowers and fairy tales..
Why try to ask her, when her life is living hell..

There's something wrong..
He's sitting there alone..
Tears rolling down his face,
as if she's gone..

He holds a flower,
trying not to cry,
but it's those same tears,
coming back to his eyes..

That melody that once was,
now flows through their hearts..
Everything is gone again,
they're all torn apart..

He goes inside,
only to find,
that song she wrote,
sitting by his glass of wine..

Her stained tears,
her picture too,
all put up, now she misses you..

She's gone, it's wrong,
they're hanging on to imaginary stars, hoping they won't fall,
but everything is quiet now,
everything is lost and torn,
because she isn't there,
and he's lost in despair..

Just one more paper angel,
one for the soul, one for her grave,
and the other one for the world..

All he remembers now,
is her smile, and her laugh..
That beautiful paper angel,
it's the one he wanted to have..
