THE WOMAN AT THE PARK

by Dolores DLF   Jan 2, 2006

I met a woman at the park the other day;
Who cried and had a lot to say.
She started by saying she was married;
And in her heart, great pain she carried.
She said, "The man of my dreams,
He doesn't love me, it seems.
I wish he could see,
What he is doing to me!"
She said, "I've tried giving him love."
As she talked, she continued to sob.
Then she added, "I wish he could feel,
Doesn't he know it's all for real?
So many times, I've tried to attract his body;
But he says he doesn't want me, he's sorry.
What's wrong with me that he doesn't want?
To feel-To touch his heart is what I sought."

I shifted in my seat,
As she continued to speak.
Please tell me what to do!
Can I rely on you?
That is when I begin to cry,
She bellowed, "I feel I want to die!"

It started getting dark, but her, it didn't phase;
She was feeling so much pain that she could talk for days.
A conversation started between me and her;
She yelled, "I can't go on...any farther!"
I consoled, "Don't worry it will get better."
She contradicted, "I've already written the letter!"
I asked are you sure that is what you want?
She said, "By me, his heart was never caught."
She asked, "So you tell me what should I do?"
I said, I don't know, it's up to you.

Now sitting at that park feeling so cold;
Let me tell you what you don't know.
This woman talking about how she felt,
Was only me...talking to myself.

***Just wanted to write something different then my regular poems.
