Stumbling Over My Words

by Kathy   Jan 2, 2006

The reflection of sunlight twirling in your dark eyes,
Mesmerizes me as I trace the outline of your face.
You leave me here with a sense of wonder,
And awe strikes me dumb as you walk with grace.

As the butterflies in my stomach take flight,
I'll stumble over every single word I will say.
And as the sun sets I'll watch as you,
Begin to sweetly fade away.

Now for some unknown reason you've made
An impact on me as soon as your glance met mine,
And I know that you might one day feel the same,
But that day might take some time.

As the moon looks in my window I'll sing you a song,
About how I sit up hugging my pillow until the sun breaks through,
Watching for shooting stars to wish upon for just one day,
All the while singing a little tune for you.

As the butterflies in my stomach take flight,
I'll stumble over every single word I will say.
And as the sun sets I'll watch as you,
Begin to sweetly fade away.
