Angel\'s sometimes come in disguise...

The rain comes down and drowns the tears,
My feet are moving but I am not.
I wonder what there is in life,
If you have a critical disease.
Then I think of you,
And your death-defying act.
You once had cancer,
Yet you acted like you didn't.
Somebody told me at your funeral that angels sometimes come in disguise,
And have to go back up to heaven.
I don't think I understood,
But now I think that I do.
I understand that you can never come back,
That you're happier up there than you were here.
Although you are happy and I truly know that well,
I just wish that you could come back, if only for a second.

I wrote this for my friend who died of cancer when he was 9...
