Everlasting Love

by Bobbi   Jan 2, 2006

Tears swell up her eyes
as she turns away to hide,
Is this really the end?
suddenly his touch raises her chin
and through sobbing stares
they exchange long lasting cares
"I will always love you"
he whispered softly in her ear
as she sorrowfully discovered her greatest fear
this really was the end
she really was loosing him
her lover, her soul mate, her best friend
this dreadful truth she could not bend
thier embrace lasted ages
as thier thoughts retraced memories pages
left with the final stage of good-bye
nothing left to do but walk away
and dry her eyes
silently whispering to him
"I'll meet you in our next life"

I've been here, with genders flipped around, recently.
It isnt the lest bit fun. Nor amusing. Nor painless.
Anyway..this was sweet and to the point, and I liked it very much so.
I'll check out some of your other work.
