WINTER

by Alex   Jan 3, 2006

One autumn
a leaf fell
then came snow
and with it
a silver full moon
The wind was merciless
against her tear-stricken
face.
Running as fast as
her small, delicate
feet could carry her,
she scurried from her fear.
But she couldn't escape
from the dagger
that pierced through
her heart.

She fell to the
snow-covered ground,
her white kimono
and pale skin
blending in with
the snow
her black lustrous
hair with the night

By the morning
when the sun had
chased away the darkness
all that was left
was her crimson blood
