Two to be in love

There was a time I was in love,
I would do anything for you.

And always spoke the truth did I,
for this love to come true.

However something i did not understand,
that not i was in control.

For I said yes a thousand times,
and yet you answered no.

Loves not a thing to hold alone,
it is a job for two.

And yet how many people accomplish this,
not only but a few.

To love someone and get love back,
is lifes most precious gift.

Though I believe true love does not exist,
perhaps it's all a myth.
