Unselfish Love

by lacy byrum   Jan 4, 2006

What does it mean to be best friends
How far does that love for each other extend
Does it stretch from the core to the sky
Can it only be seen with the purest eye

Is there anything that can explain,
Or anything that has to pertain
To the feelings best friends share
Or how deeply they always care

They sometimes let you down
They sometimes make you frown
But know that a best friends love
Is the greatest gift from God above

Love for a best friend is the most unselfish gift
They are always willing to give you're spirits a lift
Don't let go of a best friend because you thought she didn't care
Remember the love they feel for you is something very rare

You can't buy it in a store or on a shelf
It's something that you give to one from your self
You can't wrap it in pretty little bow
It's just something that's there and grows

They can make you feel worse than you ever thought
But always remember the love they feel for you can't be bought
Sometimes they may let you down more than anyone
And sometimes the mistakes they make can't be undone

But remember all best friend's make one big mistake
Which sometimes can even put the friendship at stake
Try to forgive you're friend for the one wrong she done
I know if she could, she would un-do what was done
