The Perfect Lie

by Ash Kat08   Jan 5, 2006

Daddy you sat me on the bed and told me to listen
Tears were running down my face
You told me everything I was missin
And how my mommy took your place

You told me all the stories you built up in your head
You told me mommy left me with you all night
You told me how everything would be ok when I went to bed
And in the morning everything would be alright

You said I had to get on the plane
You said I had to be strong
You told me everything I would gain
And you promised it wouldn\'t be long

To tell you the truth dad I miss you so much
But you told me the perfect lie
One I couldn\'t even think up or ever touch
And you kept that lie going until I said good bye

I\'m calling you on it
I\'m calling you out
I can\'t deal with this shit
I still don\'t even know what it\'s about

Dad are you the one, or is it them thats lyin?
Did what you say happened, really happen or not?
I need you to tell me to keep me from cryin
Daddy please tell me cause I\'m giving all that I\'ve got.

I need to know the answers to my questions here and now
I have so many questions I want to ask you
I need to know who, what, why, when, and how
But I need you to be honest and tell me the truth.
