Silence Speaks in Numbers

by Janet   Jan 5, 2006

The Silence whispers
I can barely hear
It blows in the wind
far and near
It echos in caves
and trickles on walls
It beckons you further
and finally calls

In between thunders
jumping through rain
inaudible wonders
It breathlessly strains
a noise from the distance
through time and space
I doubt It's existence
as It jumps past my face

I can't see or think or feel or taste
only reach to hear
the thing that I've chased
and as It disappears
into the night
I can barely remember
the point of this plight
only the cold November
tranquil call
that didn't mean anything
nothing at all
