Something to Think About

by Samantha Waits   Jan 5, 2006

People wonder why the world is what it is today. We have a tendency to blame things that have no part in the horror as it is. Some people who watch the news at night probably know what I'm talking about.
We have teenage mothers killing their kids and riots over race. We've created toxic wastes that have contributed to the hole in the Ozone Layer and may as well help out Global Warming. There are people who are defending murderers who should get what they deserve anyway. And the richest people in the world have everything they have ever wanted except maybe love, happiness, and a guaranteed ticket to Heaven. But yet, in places like Haiti, there are kids running around with no clothes because they didn't want to waste their life hiding in whatever shelter they have because they don't have anything to cover them up. I mean, the least we fortunate people can do is send some needed things to the poor. For all we know they're angels in disguise looking out for those few good people who do care enough to help. But no! Some of us are to busy reminiscing in our own problems to think of anyone else. It's all about us right? We can't even take a minute to thank God for the great things he's done for us. We have to be conceited about it and when something bad happens, I'm sure your first action isn't "Thank you Lord Almighty," is it? We have kids who are going bald because of cancer; dying kids. But... I bet seven out of ten of those kids count their blessings everyday. Think about it.

no offense to anyone who takes this the wrong way.
