Green Grass and Red Roses

by Charles Bailey   Jan 6, 2006

Green grass and red roses
sad faces and people crying
a dark cloudy day

a crowd of people
20 people to be exact
all lined up
to what seemed a grave

the death of a man
35 years old
been married 10 years
and had 2 kids

earlier that week
on the way home
hadn't seen his kids
in almost 2 months

he was hit by a driver
that had a few drinks before
he never realized
the pain he would of caused

the driver who intoxicated
is spending a life behind bars
as everyday he remembers that night

the man who was hit
did indeed later that night
as his family spends their lifetime
remembering everyday
of a loving man
who came home for the holidays
