For You "Mom"

by KRISTA   Jan 7, 2006

You promised you'd call me, and you haven't. You promised you'd be there, and you weren't. You promised you'd stop hurting me, and you didn't. Here's to the mom you never were, and here's to the mom you'll never be. I can't believe it took me so long to figure out that all your "truths" were really lies all along. So this poem is dedicated to you:

I'll never forgive you for the times you didn't call, and I'll never forgive you for the times you let me fall. I'll never forgive you for not being there, it's just more proof that really didn't care. I'll never forgive you for the times you looked me in the eye and lied, and I'll never forgive you for those knots in my life that you tied. I've finally found the freedom from you that I've been looking for, I've finally realized that I don't need you anymore. So don't look my way because I won't be looking yours, I'm closing all those open doors.
