A Beautiful Evening

by Heather   Jan 7, 2006

Staring up into the
beautiful midnight sky,
I'm enchanted by it's
wonderful spell.
Slowly the stars
come out from hiding,
first one, then two, then three.

Staring up
at the great big moon
it seems to echo
with stories that have
gone untold.
I stare in awe
at the glory which lies
in heaven's fold.

Crickets are chirping
in the distance
the firefly's are
flying about glowing
and listless.
The grass is damp with dew,
the only thing left
to make this night
perfect is you.
