Walk of Blood

Walk of Blood
An Aztec Sacrifice
By: Warpboy

Trembling to the top,
Looking Death in the eyes,
Blood thirsty gods above,
Chanting crowd below,

I stop dead on the stairs,
Look at my feet soaked,
In another mans blood,

I stand at the top now,
A hooded priest looks me in the eyes,
And smirks,
With his white beady eyes,
I leap in fright,
A quick thrust into my chest,

Dead I lie now,
My bloody heart in a pan,
Still beating,
To the rhythm of the jubilant crowd
