Rough Dirt Road

Rough Dirt Road

I started down a rough dirt road, not quite sure just were it led. I was filled with tons of problems, so instead I ran and fled.

I should have took the one that led me straight to you, But I could not seem to swallow my pride- even though I always knew.

The road was rough and rigid, not so smooth to walk across, For it bestowed burdens upon me, my choice cost me a loss.

My time was waisted foolishly, as I tried to smooth the road on my own, I should have turned to you instead and let your love be known.

I realize now what I must do, to correct the soul in me, I will leave those selfish ways and instead I'll turn to thee.

Your loving grace shall save me, restore the road to new, My wrong ways will be corrected, just by loving you.
