Somewhere Out There

by RB   Jan 10, 2006

I sat alone with my desolation,
Listening to the night’s heartfelt sighs.
Everything was so quiet,
I could hear my painful cries.

Deep into the night,
That my pain expressed.
The loneliness was killing,
My heart which was so depressed.

Thoughts of you,
Were slowly drifting through my head,
The face which I grew to love,
The lovely words which were said.

I pictured every moment,
Every minute spent with you.
But these memories brought back the pain,
Which I momentarily got through.

I lifted my head to the sky,
And felt the light shine down from the moon,
Wondering if your wanderings away from me,
Would end soon.

It gave me a tiny bit of hope,
Knowing that somewhere out there,
You were gazing at the same sky.

It gave me a tiny bit of faith,
That somewhere out here,
You were living the same lie.

That we could go on,
Without each other in our lives.
But I knew that somehow,
We would both survive.

So I listened to the night song,
And prayed that somewhere out there you heard it too.
Knowing as you listened to my painful cry,
That I’d always love you.
