Where is happiness?

Whats so great about this world
When everyone is so cruel
Saying snide remarks
Seems to be their living fuel

Where is this happiness to be found
That everyone says exists
I haven't found it yet
But I continue to persist

Why do people do these things
What is done is done in the past
I'm trying to forget
But the nightmares always last

These things that happen
So vivid in my dreams
I'm reliving every one of them
With all the fears and screams

Petrified by many things
I don't let my feelings show
I'm scared to try new things
Fearing yet another blow

So where is this happiness found
That everyone says exists?
I haven't found it yet
But I continue to persist...
