I Just wanted you to know

by Laura Ash   Jan 16, 2006

The first time I looked at you
I didn't have to think
Because I just knew

That love really don't cost a thing
It don't need money
Or a fancy diamond ring

But sometimes you have to sacrifice
Time, patience, hope
Maybe even your life

So they can be live life through
Make sure life is great
Even though it's not with you

Love is like a butterfly
Sometimes meant to be set free
So it can never die

The second time I look at you
I wanted to say it
But I didn't know what to do

My mouth wouldn't work
And neither could my brain
Like it just went berserk

Why can't I let my feelings go?
Cause I might lose a chance
I just wanted you to know

When you smile I feel my hopes rise
When I dream of you
I never want to open my eyes

All the other times I looked at you
I wondered if I would ever hear the words
"Yes I love you" or someday "I do"

You keep my mind spinning
When I got over that other guy
I knew it was a start of a new beginning

When you seem to disappear
Deep inside,
I feel like your still here

In my heart and in my mind
If it doesn't work out
Then I'll know love still hasn't been defined

I just wanted you to know
That boy I love you so
