Believe

My mind shuts down, I am so numb. You told
me not to drink that night, now I notice
your frown. It wasn't me mom,I swear! I was
the sober one. I went to that party, I was responsible. I thought of your love and care.I was on my way back home, when I looked up in the mirror.I noticed my hair disheveled,So I bent down for my comb.I should have known better. I hit an oncoming car and was thrown outside. I woke up numb hearing a man speaking to a woman.I was lying on a table, the woman was cutting off
my sweater. She asked the medic what happened, his response was,"Alcohol." The passengers in the other car were dead, and I was badly hurt. I really wanted to curl up into a ball.I noticed you next. You were in the corner weeping. We made eye contact, and then you werepushed out the door.I fell back asleep knowing you thought it was me.The doctors spent 8 hrs. on me,the hours slowly creeping. When I finally awoke,I was on machines. It was so hard to breath.I am slowly slipping,I don't want to cry.I'm watching you,Mom.I want you to know it wasn't me.You were crying as I spoke. You glanced over with your eyes so red,I told you what happened, even though it was hard.I tell you that I love you and dad, and when I die I want my headstone to read, "Our lil Angel" I pormise i will always be with you, and feel free to talk to me when your filled with dread. It's getting harder to breath and I struggle to keep my eyes open. These are the final moments;I'm beginning to feel numb again.I love you mom, tell dad i love him too. I am going home to heaven.
