Running

by CrimsonInHumanBlood   Jan 17, 2006

I've been running for so long,
My breathing labors,
My chest's on fire,
My legs burn,
Dogs bark,
Sirens Blar,
Guns fire,
A target is hit,
I stumble but do not fall,
Bleeding,
Hurting,
Pain,
Fear,
I jump into a river,
It carries me downstream,
Swimming to a muddy shore,
Finding a graveyard,
I rest,
Tearing the bullets from my flesh,
Darkness falls,
Hiding,
Hiding,
Running,
Hiding,
BAM!
Stillness,
Rustle in the bush,
Pain racks every bone in my body,
Voices scream in my sensitive ears,
I was a killer,
I wouldn't run this time,
My true power comes forth,
Claws,
Teeth,
Flesh torn,
Blood pours,
My breathing is hitched,
Their blood runs down my throat,
Silence...
Freedom!
