Following in your footsteps

by CrimsonInHumanBlood   Mar 6, 2007

Following in deep foot prints

Tryin to keep up with you,

The cold is eating away at my flesh,

The darkeness is murky,

Even for my eyes,

Reaching out to you through the distance,

You seem so out of reach,

I can no longer see you,

Only your footsteps remain,

Even those are seemingly fading before my clouded eyes,

Calling out your name through the distance,

Only for the wind whips it back in my face,

Falling backwards as I stumble in your footsteps,

This howling wind is no more than silence to my ears,

I'm alone on this empty waste land I call my home,

No one to comfort me in my darkest hour,

Now I lay here wondering where you could have wandered off too,

The snow blows over my face,

The chills recede,

Finally the sun is coming out.
