The Lonely Seaside

by The Spirit of Ash   Jan 21, 2006

I take a long walk
Down the lonely seaside
Dreaming of the day you left
To win your country's pride

To where you are
Is no Fourth of July
Dark never becomes light
Many are sure to die

With a gun in your hold
You try to win the fight
Before loosing your life
And saving others in the night

The letters you sent
Were so dreadful and scary
Though you made a promise
To return home and merry

But I told you before
Don't make promises you cant keep
Just be my hero
I begin to solemnly weep

Fighting with bravery
He did what he was told
But nothing goes they way you want
Everything went so cold

The battle field of hell
That is where you went
And you'll never return now
Because your grave was sent

Beside the settled sea
I picked up a stick in my hand
And drew a heart for you
In the ocean sand

My spirit sails forth
And connects with your own
I wish you were here with me
Without you, I feel so alone

I cry so softly
As I sing the sad song
I remember your heart beat
To you is where I belong

But though you're in heaven
And we are kept far apart
Now and for always
You'll be safe in my heart
