Break Free

by Haani M   Jan 22, 2006

I stand in front of the mirror,
I see but only me.
I stand in the darkness,
Wishing you would set me free.

Captured in your heart,
Attempting to break loose.
Weakening by the second,
My love you seem to use.

Turn your back on me,
I'll stay put 'til you're back.
I anxiously wait for you,
My heart turns black.

I stand in front of the mirror,
I see but only me.
I stand in the darkness,
Wishing you would set me free.

If for only there be one second,
Where I could be in your arms.
Shield me from the darkness,
Shelter me from the way of harm.

I am lacking your love,
I need it so.
I am lacking your touch,
Where did you go?

I stand in front of the mirror,
I see but only me.
I stand in the darkness,
Wishing you would set me free.

You slowly make your way,
Waltz back into my heart.
How I love you darling,
Why did we drift apart?

Dusting the dirt right off my knees,
Gathering my strength and security.
No longer will I stand alone,
No more long hours of disparity.

I stand in front of the mirror,
I see but only me.
I gleam in the sunshine,
I am finally free.
