For Josh

by Haani M   Apr 6, 2006

Wilted yellow roses,
Overpowered by the rain.
Fingers pointing in rage,
As if it is me they blame.

Distasteful grey clouds,
Hovering high up in the sky.
Bitter-tasting tears,
Seeping out of my own eyes.

Candle oh candle,
Blow gently in the wind.
Take it all away,
Cleanse my pain within.

The sound of your voice,
It plays inside my mind.
Your laughter seems to echo,
But, it is you I cannot find.

Inside I am stinging,
A wound sprinkled with salt.
Your presence is missing,
Seems that it is my fault.

Candle oh candle,
Blow gently in the wind.
Take it all away,
Cleanse my pain within.

Through laughter and anger,
Even a waterfall of tears.
You held my hand,
Through all of these years.

Drowning in guilt,
Could they be true?
I couldnt help but wish that,
I went instead of you.

Candle oh candle,
Blow gently in the wind.
Take it all away,
Cleanse my pain within.

You were my saviour,
By my side you stayed.
Persuaded me to keep going,
When my smile started to fade.

I stand in deadly silence,
No one left to keep me sane.
I stand without you,
Yet hear you call my name.

Candle oh my candle,
Blow so gently in the wind.
Take me away,
Make me start to dim.
