Story of a Girl

by OverlookedTruth   Jan 22, 2006

Hello one hello all
This is a story about a girl
Who has yet to fall

She holds her tears in
And her sorrow
Thinking a better day will come tomorrow

She holds on to anything she can
Hopes and hopes
Tomorrow will bring a better chance

Through it all, this girl has been
Abuse, violence, heartache...
You wouldnt image the kind of things this girl has seen

She's seen the darkest of days
The saddest of mothers
Oh, all the horror her life portrays

A little girls innocence robbed
Childhood stolen
So many thieves and only one hero

A man
Who stood by a family
Through thick, through thin

A father
Standing by his daughter
Through it all, aiding survival

A grandfather
Bringing joy to children
Spreading light into darkness

Heros are forever
This man was invincible
Invincible with a time limit that is

The man stricken through surgery
Dead after an hour of recitation
Oh yes, the girls hero is gone

Hero's bring happiness
They dont change the past
The girls life still held that dreadful sense

Her purity, her innocence
Robbed at the age of 4
A filthy man with no moral sense

A childhood stolen, stolen by running
Away from another man, the girls father
Her childhood was stolen, never to be returned

Oh yes, how men have harmed this girl
How can she trust when an uncle raped her,
And a father caused so much pain to her family

Oh no, she can not trust
Her eyes watching everyone
Every moment, of every day

The paranoid girl
Aware of the horrible world around
Waking with nightmares each night

She wakes up screaming
Sweating and traumatized
Terrified of her dreams, of all those horrible things she sees

The girl had lost hope
Her hero was dead
Her happiness feigned

Every day, every day of her childhood
She had spread a smile
Happy and joyous of the world

What those fools never knew
She held within, so deep, so deep.
Kept it all in, everything. Every. Single. Thing.

Such a strong child,
Never letting on more than needed
From Town to Town (Fools and Fools)

Oh yes, the girl had lost hope
She broke down, couldnt take it
Life as she knew it, was meaningless

God, as she thought of
Wasnt real, was a mere myth
How can a god cause so much pain?

But the girl picked herself up
Oh yes, she did
Picked herself right up

Stared up at the sky
Saw that star, she'd seen everyday
Her hope had returned

Her belief revived
The only reason god caused her life pain
Was so she would be strong

This girl has been through it all
Everything she's overcome, all the rodes she crossed
She\'s crossed alone

All of the suffering
She's survived alone
Alone, always and forever

She doesnt need anyone
No no, she needs absolutely no one
All she need's is hope and god

This is the story of the girl
Who has been through it all
And has yet to fall

She holds her tears in
And her sorrow
Thinking a better day will come tomorrow
