When I Was Young

by Kimura   Jan 30, 2006

When I was young
I had a friend
He was with me through and through
Until the end

When I was young
I had a flower
It withered to death
It grew old and cowered

When I was young
I had a book
It had fairytales and happy endings
But it crumbled as it shook

When I was young
I had a mother
She taught me words
With her hands, I could learn no other

When I was young
I walked to the beach
As the sea fought the cliff
I heard a silent screech

When I was young
I saw my crying friend,
I saw my cowering flower,
I heard my mother whimper with silent hands,
I saw my life of fairytales crumble,
And then I knew, it was the end.

When I was young
I left my friend,
I left my flower,
I left my mother ,
I left my world of happy endings
And then I knew, it was the end.
